At Lynn Haven UMC, we know that being age 55 or older is just the beginning. In fact, our older adults are among the most active and vibrant groups in our community! We are proud to recognize this distinctive group of people for their untiring service, faithfulness, experience and wisdom.
Our 55+ adults are some of our most active volunteers and can be found helping, not only on Sunday mornings with our various weekend ministries, but also throughout the week. Whether answering the phone, helping get out the newsletter, helping to maintain our facilties, delivering flowers to shut-ins through the Blossoms of Love ministry, or working with the Hardly Able Construction Crew building wheelchair ramps for the elderly, our 55+ adults never seem to tire in their service to God and His church.
They also serve and minister to others through countless small groups, as well as the United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women organizations, where many of our 55+ adults are members.
Our 55+ adults also just love to get together and have fun! Themed dinners are planned about every other month, our Hillclimbers group meet monthly for lunch at a local restaurant or have a picnic, and various outings both locally and nationally are planned throughout the year.
If you would like more information on any of these activities, find out more about how to get involved with this great group of people, or just like chatting with Jim, you can email Jim Luther, Congregational Care Pastor by clicking here or call him at the church office, 265-5231.
