Our youth have been busy this summer with camp, a mission trip, lock-ins and weekly activities and hands-on mission opportunities!  Check it out!

Camp Lee 2011

 

Around 80 students and leaders from Lynn Haven UMC descended upon Camp Lee near Anniston, AL this summer!   Through games, study, worship and messages from Tom Fuerst, they learned about “Pursuing God”!

Lynn Haven UMC Youth mission Trip

Kentucky Heartland Outreach is a ministry that seeks to provide safe, warm and dry homes to homeowners who could otherwise not afford such needed home repairs.

 

This summer, our church took a group of 20 youth and five leaders, along with another 25 from First Methodist for a weeklong mission trip to Kentucky to volunteer with KHO.  While there the group helped KHO with re-roofing houses and building decks for the needy. The group was spread among 17 groups of volunteers helping that week!

Summer Fun activities

Lot’s of fun activities were also planned for this summer
including:

 

• Biking at Seaside
• Trip to Blue Springs
• Atlanta Braves games
• Girl’s Lock-in Laua
• Boy’s Hero Lock-in
• Laguna Beach Day

 

 

Hand’s on activities

The youth had several service days where they help a family move in, did yard work for several families including clearing brush and trimming bushes, as well as cleaning the church buses! To see more service day pics click here!

 

 

 

 

 

Youth Week 2011 - noise

One of the things the students look forward to is our annual Youth week which always starts out with a highly competitive scavenger hunt and several days of fun, service and worship!  This year’s speaker was Jill Berquist Wallace.  Rachel Smith led worship with a special appearance by the Righteous Boys!  Click here to see the highlight video!  Click here to see pics from the week!
