Weekday Life Groups are FELLOWSHIP oriented. They are a small group of adults who are committed to “doing life together”! Life groups build relationships for the purpose of encouraging spiritual growth and accountability among members. Their regular meetings may include a meal, a topic of study, prayer time, and/or service projects. We have 30+ groups! If you’d like to join a Life Group [Join Here]
Sunday morning groups are a traditional, Sunday school setting. Each group has a lesson (lecture, dvd, or teacher-led), discussion, and prayer time. The groups are open to all adults. Groups typically study one topic, and then start a new topic and continue throughout the year. Groups often become close-knit communities that spend time together outside of church. The LHUMC Discipleship Path is a series of classes designed to introduce you to Lynn Haven UMC and walk you through the process of understanding our core beliefs, membership, identifying your unique God-given gifts, finding a place of service, and discovering your life mission. All members of LHUMC are encouraged to complete the Discipleship Path classes.
Weekday classes are EDUCATION oriented, and will be either a lecture, dvd, or teacher-led study. Some include fellowship and prayer time. These classes have specific start/end dates and some may require you to register for class materials or for childcare. Please see specific details for each class. [View Classes]
One of our recommended bible reading plans is the 5x5x5 Bible Reading Plan - it is through the New Testament in 5 days a week, 5 minutes a day. One chapter a day is an achievable goal, and it leaves enough time in the day for reflection and journaling, or reading additional commentaries and chasing rabbit trails!
Many readers recommend the You Version Bible App (for droids and apple users) - click here http://bible.com/r/3k This app takes you automatically through the reading plan, or emails the readings to you, and allows you to share with friends your notes and progress if you want. It also will read aloud to you – a favorite feature of commuters!
Help us encourage daily Bible reading in our community - invite your friends and small group to join us in reading the New Testament this year! [View Reading Plan]
Activity groups are ACTION oriented. They are organized around an activity, and offer you the opportunity to have fun or do ministry together with friends. They are not typically a study or education oriented, but many do involve service projects or sports. These groups are free, unless otherwise noted. [View Groups Here]
